DIVISION C TOURNAMENT (HIGH SCHOOL)
We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Long Island Science Olympiad (LISO) Invitational Tournament (formally referred to as the Islip Invitational) for the fifth consecutive year. Registration will begin at 7:30am. The events run from 8:30am to 3:30pm, and we hope that the award ceremony will begin by 5pm!
We will be offering medals to the top eight teams for the 23 national events and 3 NYS trial events. All 23 national events will go toward the final ranking of each competing school. The three highest scored events will be dropped from each team to calculate final rank (i.e. 20 lowest scoring events count toward rank). The top six schools of the tournament will be recognized by an official trophy or plaque. Medals will be given for student participation in the trial events, but they will not count toward ranking.
If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist, please fill out this form. We are currently maxed out at 69 teams in attendance. If any team does not submit their check for registration by October 23rd, the registration slot will be awarded to any team on the waitlist that has paid in full.
All teams are held to the national standards of a maximum of 15 competing team members with no more than 7 seniors for a given team. All students are expected to follow the code of conduct for competing at an invitational tournament. Each team must bring at least one coach to supervise or assist an event and one supervising adult (older than 21) to remain in the team homerooms at all times. Those schools bringing two teams must bring two coaches for event assistance and one supervising adult for the homeroom.
Please, in the interim, ensure that your team is a registered team through your official state office. I must certify each team with the appropriate state office in advance. Any team that does not have their state registration completed by November 3, 2017 runs the risk of being dropped from the tournament.

DIVISION B TOURNAMENT (MIDDLE SCHOOL)
We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Middle School Tournament on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Islip Middle School. The high school team will be partnering with Stony Brook University Science Olympiad club members to run the South Shore Seawolves Invitational for 34 Division B teams.
We have currently met the cap of 34 teams. If you would like to be considered for the waitlist, please fill out the registration form here and we will contact you if a spot opens up.
We will be offering medals to the top six teams for the 23 national events and 3 NYS trial events. All 23 national events will go toward the final ranking of each competing school. The twohighest scored events will be dropped from each team to calculate final rank (i.e. 21 lowest scoring events count toward rank). The top four schools of the tournament will be recognized by an official trophy or plaque. Medals will be given for student participation in the trial events, but they will not count toward ranking.
Formal payment for the South Shore Seawolves tournament will be required by Wednesday, November 22, 2017. If a school fails to submit a check to cover their registration costs of $90, schools that are currently on the waitlist and have paid their registration cost will be offered the spot at that time. A formal invoice will be emailed to all schools that have been preliminarily added to the registration list with details on how to submit payment.
As with the high school tournament, all attending teams must be certified as registered with their respective state offices in advance of the invitational. If a school is not certified by 11/22/17, they may be dropped from the official registration. Please contact your local state office to determine how to formally register and pay their registration fees in advance.
We look forward to hosting you at the invitational!
